The Beginning
Charleston’s dining scene has always tilted east.
The peninsula, the Cannonborough-Elliotborough corner restaurants, the spots on King Street — they get the attention because they get the foot traffic. The west side of the river gets the takeout.
The Lick At 10 Windermere was built on a different assumption: that the people of James Island and West Ashley want excellent food, sourced with intention, without the bridge traffic. That a great restaurant can live in a neighborhood instead of performing for visitors.
